Connections Groups
connecting individuals through supportive groups
Alzheimer's disease and related dementias are devastating illnesses. The person with Alzheimer's disease faces a progressive decline in mental functioning which eventually renders them incapable of caring for themselves. For those supporting someone with dementia, the disease carries a heavy toll. Caregivers and people with dementia are overwhelmed with constant challenges and painful decisions.
Supportive groups offer help and hope for individuals and family care providers. Support groups...
Connect families to the Society, to peer support, education and community supports.
Empower caregivers in the establishment of excellent care practices that enhance the dignity of the individual with dementia or a related dementia.
Encourage caregiving that promotes healthy, positive outcomes for caregivers and their loved ones.
Connection Groups are offered to meet the needs of a variety of individuals including those with early stage dementia, family care providers (spouses and adult children). Groups are emerging in various locations, including the surrounding Townships. One Connections group provides support for families of individuals with frontal temporal dementia.
